Above is a picture of my dinner tonight. It was yummy and a "complete meal"
2 packages of frozen spinach
2 tomatoes
garlic powder to taste
12 oz turkey breast chopped up
4 oz of olive oil
all heated to mix after the spinach was cooked
on top of whole wheat spaghetti
(serves 4)
I also am posting Stuffed pepper soup. I am going to post the original recipe that I have. I, of course, had to modify it slightly.
2lbs browned hamburger or turkey
2c diced green peppers (1 cup approx = 1 green pepper)
1 28oz canned tomato sauce
1 28 oz can diced tomatoes ( I used several fresh ones)
2c cooked brown rice
1/4c brown sugar
1 tsp pepper
2 tsp salt
Cook everything together but the rice. When peppers are tender add rice. Add water to thin to the consistency you like.
Add a salad with vinegar and oil and you have yourself another complete and quite filling meal!
I have not made the recipe below but I found it recently and bought the cabbage.
Unstuffed Cabbage Soup
(2-3 servings)
1/2 lb lean ground beef
1/4 c onion chopped
1c brown rice, cooked
2c cabbage shredded
1 tbs cider vinegar
8oz tomato sauce
1/4 caraway seed (optional)
pepper (to taste)
Oven 350
Brown meat, grain grease
spoon meat into a small nonstick casserole dish and top with onions, then rice and then cabbage.
In a small bowl, combine vinegar, tomato sauce and pepper
Pour liquid over meat mixture
Sprinkle with caraway seeds
Cover and bake 30-45 min

An Ode to Water
Like The Water
by Wendell Berry
Like the waterof a deep stream, love is always too much.We did not make it.Though we drink till we burst,we cannot have it all,or want it all.In its abundanceit survives our thirst. In the evening we come down to the shoreto drink our fill, and sleep, while it flowsthrough the regions of the dark.It does not hold us,except we keep returning to its rich watersthirsty. We enter, willing to die, into the commonwealth of its joy.
Water, is taught by thirst.
by Emily Dickinson
Water, is taught by thirst.
Land -- by the Oceans passed.
Transport -- by throe
--Peace -- by its battles told
--Love, by Memorial Mold
--Birds, by the Snow.
Water
by Aleksandra Lachut
Water, water everywhere, water all around, Water in the ocean, water in the ground.Water in a river, water in a creek, Water in a faucet with a drip-drip leak! Water in a fountain, water in a lake, Water on a flower, as day begins to break.Water from a waterfall, rushing down from high, Water from a dark cloud, raining from the sky.Water boiling hot, water frozen ice, Water in a blue lagoon, clean and clear and nice.Water at a fire, gushing through a hose, Water in a garden, so every flower grows.Water for the animals swimming in the sea, Water, water everywhere for you and for me!

Week 1
FOOD:
Week one was a learning experience on this new diet. I LOVE the fact that cream cheese in a protein and I also learned Greek yogurt (at least in a shake), also a protein, is pretty good.
Also, I retried Peter's breakfast. It is sooooooo much better with a banana and lots of cinnamon and some Stevia. Yes use of stevia is allowed. It was in one of the recipes in the book. You can find it at your local store in the baking aisle with the other sugar products.
WATER:
Call me crazy but I am actually craving water and don't miss soda at all (WHAT?!?!). I know, strange! I already knew where every bathroom in Stark county was thanks to my job and boy has it come in handy. As a little FYI; most of the fast foods will give you free water (even if you don't order anything else) except if you get a large and then McDonald's charges $0.50. I forgot my water bottle one day and kept hitting all the fast food places for water to go along with my food.
EXERCISE:
My dog and I are dodging the rain drops to get our walks in after lil j goes to bed. So far I mostly have been doing walking with Ty (the dog). I do have a treadmill. Its in the basement I am cleaning and is actually uncovered! I just prefer walking better.
HABITS:
The first habit (making sure clothes are in the laundry or put away) is going really well. The cleaning the basement, um, well, its getting OLD fast. I realized I have a lot of Christmas decorations (now mostly in one area) and that I need non-Christmas wrapping paper!
SLEEP:
Ah, 7 hours sleep! I can do it! I actually got 8 last night thanks to lil j sleeping a bit longer this morning! Well, that and I didn't have to get up for work :)
How was everyone else's week one?
Teams
Hello all,
Sorry about the delay. Its been a BUSY week to say the least! Below are the "teams"
Team VA: Team weight watchin' on the South Beach:
Bobbi Miki (WW)
Pat A. Marsha (WW)
Becky Nicki (sorry if I misspelled) (WW?)
Christine Mike (SBD)
Toni
The week's total points are due to me via any method (email, phone, text, mailbox at work etc.) by noon on Monday to get your ten points for turning them in on time.
I would love to also know how many 100pt days anyone had. Don't forget you have a free mail and a free day to spare on the habits etc. If for example you miss getting your 100oz of water in on a day that can be your "free day" for water. If you didn't exercise you also get a "free pass" on that once a week. When you use your "free day" you get your total points. You do NOT have to use the free exercise and water on the same day!

Shopping and Day 1's food!
I took my F.Y.T. list to the store with me as I went up and down the aisles of Giant Eagle this weekend.
I started with the fresh fruit and vegetables. I got:
2 bags of baby spinach
lettuce
celery
cucumbers (both seedless and the regular kind)
bananas
strawberries
I then went to the organic/natural area and bought:
whole wheat pasta and spaghetti
steel cut oats ( i plan to make one of the breakfast recipes)
salmon patties
I found one Greek yogurt (I'm a little hesitant but i thought I'd try it).
In other parts of the store I got:
olive oil
Brown rice
walnuts and almonds
crab
lots of tuna
ground turkey
skim milk
egg whites
string cheese
fruit cups
Interesting note about the tuna. I bought both the canned tuna in water (labeled as 5 oz) as well as the vacuum sealed (2.6oz tuna). I then got out the can opener drained the tuna and proceeded to put it on my scale to figure out three oz. Guess what?! The 5oz is with the water in!!! I half-heartedly drained it and it took most of the can to get to 3 oz.
Tuna salad:
3 oz tuna
1tsp olive oil
spices
lots of celery. It might be celery salad with tuna in it!
I plan to eat it on top of some baby spinch for one of my meals tomorrow.
Breakfast (6am):
Smoothie
1 c. ff milk
1/2 c. frozen strawberries
6 almonds
1/2 ff Greek yogurt with honey (its the only one I could find at the store)
Meal 2 (10amish):
Peter's perfect oatmeal puddin' breakfast
1/2 c. oats
3 egg whites
1/2 c. strawberries
flax seed
and a sweetener like honey or stevia.
I hope this is good cold because that's how I get to eat it
Lunch (noon):
Tuna salad (see above recipe) with 2 c. baby spinach
fruit cup
Meal 4 (3:30?)
2 low-fat string cheese
nuts
pineapple
Dinner (7:00?)
Stuffed pepper soup (I'll post the recipe for this later)
and a salad of lettuce, cucumbers and balsamic vinegar and olive oil
100 cal of whatever ( I haven't figured this out yet).
and of course the 96oz of water throughout the day!
Good Luck everyone. Please feel free to post what you ate (even you WW/SBD people); especially if you have an interesting meal that we can steal from you ;)

Preperation
Good luck contestants!
You may want to take some time this weekend to go grocery shopping and make some meal plans. Last week, in preparation for the game (and I've really been wanting one..what better excuse?) I bought the pictured water bottle from Hartville Flea Market which also has a rockin' market place for fresh fruit and veggies. I also checked out the Canton Farmer's Market which had some nice vegetables and some local made honey which i purchased since I know I am going to need to sweeten some things.
Good Luck everyone! You should have your score sheets and if you look to the bottom right I have added some links that may be helpful. I plan to keep adding links, so keep checkin' in!
Next post: my shopping trip and maybe some recipes?
